returns early 2010... You may have noticed that the dcRap.com blog disappeared a few months ago. I could not execute my vision for DC Rap using a blog so I rather abruptly snatched it off the internet. Since then I've done a direct assessment of the DMV hip hop scene for the sole purpose of creating a media outlet that will become directly beneficial to my fellow DMV artists. My current plan is to program a web interface that will organize user-generated media (photos, mixtapes, videos) related to every DMV hip hop artists in one database. The DC Rap blog was slowly becoming a centralized reference point for the entire DC hip hop scene. This will not only accomplish that goal, but it will also become a centralized resource for each artist on the city. For example, when you click on Wale's profile on DC Rap you will see all of his mixtapes, photos, and as many videos as people submit to the site. The goal will be to have a similar profile for every artist in the DMV. DC Rap will also serve as a social media directory (Profiles: MySpace x Twitter x Facebook) for all the artists in the DMV. I have a lot more ideas, but those are the initial ones my team and I will knock out. Expect to see the BETA version of DC Rap in early 2010. Until then, I'll be using this page to start compiling ideas and to keep a running list of the hip hop shows I throw in DC. Feel free to shoot me feedback on Twitter: @dcRap
