The purpose of this site is to create a centralized digital location that organizes and distributes hip hop mixtapes.

Since the introduction of Napster, digital media has rapidly changed how music is distributed. Initially the record labels fought free albums, now independent labels use them as effective tools to expose new artists or rejuvenate the fanbase of existing ones.

New technologies like the internet, fiber-optic bandwidth, home recording studios, and Bandcamp make it easier for music to be and distributed globally for virtually no cost. To me it makes sense to make it easier for artists to distribute their music and for fans to fill their iPods.
